Careers in engineering is becoming competitive in recent days as there
are so many specializations in each discipline of engineering who can best fit
for specific requirements. Fresh aerospace engineers never had so many choices
where one could choose what they want. All the engineers used to executive
similar kind of work and only few top could get into research and development
as the technology was not so advanced till few years back. As the industry is
expanding its base and advancement is happening new profiles are being created
to suit the various requirements in product design, manufacturing, testing,
quality control, software integration and project management.
Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) is the latest trend in aerospace domain as
we see applications of this is heavily used in civil and military. UAVs are of
two types, one being remotely piloted and other being autonomous. UAVs come in
different size depending upon its application. UAVs are extensively used by
defence forces but it is slowly getting into civilian forte also. These
vehicles are capable of achieving an altitude of 60K feet and have a range of
22K kms. Research is going on in making these vehicles smaller and more
efficient. A drone, in a technological context, is an unmanned aircraft. Drones are
popularly known as unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). As it performs function
dynamically or as programmed, a drone can also be called as robot.
With so much to offer we see that Aerospace Engineering is one of the
world’s most exciting careers which are very rewarding also.
Aerospace is a booming industry as it is
reported that companies are working on hybrid-electric aircraft which reduces
the emission and also the cost. Innovation has always been the key in the
aerospace domain which predominantly focuses on making bigger, efficient,
ecofriendly, faster and safe aircrafts. Spectrum of Aerospace engineering career is getting wider as
there is dearth of qualified engineers to work in latest technologies adapted
in aerospace. Software in this domain is making a buzz as every hardware which
gets into the system require this. Embedded and networking software engineers
are more in demand as the number of aircrafts and airports are growing.
Communication is one more area where industries would be looking out for
engineers as they would be required to communicate with ground as well as
aircrafts which are in the same zone.
